New Beginnings Church of God is a NEW church for the Kenova community. The Church of God on Poplar St. has a long history in Kenova. However, with a new Pastor and new leadership, we are bringing you a new church experience. Pastor Bob Ingels has a passion for people, the church and the community. He believes the church should be a place where you come as you are and where your faith in Christ makes you a member. New Beginnings is a church where Jesus is the subject of all we say and do and that “church” isn’t a building but a people who love God, love each other and passionately follow Jesus together. In Christ, all people experience a new beginning.

We're a church where you can come as you are and find a contemporary service. We're family-focused, so you'll find children and youth programming. We are community-driven, creating different outreach events throughout the year. One of these events is Community Nights where we get together for food, a fun activity, and awesome fellowship! Come join us for a Sunday service or our weekly Wednesday Night Bible Studies, where you'll enjoy a hot meal and a friendly welcome!

We're affiliated with the Church of God (Anderson), you can find out more by clicking the logo...

Pastor Bob Ingels

Pastor Bob has been married to Romy for 25 years and they have two children together, Jon who is 25 and Jessica who is 24. Having been married for this long, while raising a family, he understands the challenges families face today. He has over 20 years of experience leading the Church. He's lead ministry in Chicago, where he was born, in Michigan where he spent 16 years in the Church of God and now Kenova, WV as the Pastor of New Beginnings; Kenova's newest Church plant.

His passion is for preaching Christ and making Disciples. He believes that in Christ everyone receives a "New Beginning". His teaching is Christ-Centered, as he believes all of the scripture points to Jesus. Preaching should be relevant with application for today, as scripture answers life's questions. He has a passion for helping people find their gifts and purpose in the Church. He believes the Church is not a building, but a people loving each other and passionately following Jesus together.

While being new to Kenova, he has fallen in love with the community and the people around it. He believes the Church is here to bring hope, to love our neighbors and find ways to connect out Community to Christ, by sharing Him in our words and deeds.

When he's not leading the church, you'll find him dating Romy and spending time with his family or out exploring the great outdoors and all that "Wild and Wonderful" West Virginia has to offer. He's also a music lover and plays guitar.
